Lighting

I absolutely adore these pendant lights! With all the white in the kitchen I wanted a wood tone to help warm it up and these did just the trick and they go wonderfully with our tongue and grove in our tray ceiling.

Sink and Faucet

A bridge faucet and apron farmhouse sink, be still my heart! And even better they are at an awesome price point. I have been asked since the faucet is so reasonably priced how the quality is, and my answer is I would buy it again in a heartbeat. No regrets!

Backsplash

When your building, some decisions are just hard and the backsplash was one of them. I wanted a cement tile so badly, but just couldn’t find one that was within the budget that I liked. But looking back I think the marble arabesque was the right decision. Timeless and classic! Also the wavy subway tile gives added a little extra texture to the wall.
A little FYI: I may have been just a little worried right after laying it. The true white on the subway and the creamy white on the cabinets scared me in the beginning with the contrast of whites, but once everything was finished it was just fine. So if this happens to you I promise it will be A-ok and will look beautiful when you are finished.

Pot Filler

This was the first time I have ever had a pot filler and let me just say I love it!! It was kind of an after thought in our design. I didn’t add it initially because I thought it would be expensive, and you know when building it’s easy to go over budget. We decided right before we added the the backsplash to go ahead with it and I’m so happy we did. The water line and filler the hubby installed himself so there wasn’t any any labor cost involved. Bar Stools

Lots of questions regarding our barstools.
I have linked some similar here and here. With all the white, I wanted to add another wood tone for added warmth to the kitchen. If you are local to me I will be happy to order the exact ones for you, just send me an email. Unfortunately, I’m not able to ship them at this time.

Paint colors

Cabinets: White Dove
Island: Stonington Gray
Walls/Shiplap: White Dove, eggshell
Trim: White Dove, semi-gloss
Ceiling- Simply White, flat

Counter tops

Perimeter of Kitchen: Leathered Black Granite
I get asked about showing dust and crumbs with them being dark? You do have to keep them wiped, but I would still go with them again. My opinion is they are not any more up keep than a lighter colored counter top.
Plus the added texture of leathered I think makes them unique and beautiful.

Island: Carrera Marble
It was a hard decision to use marble in the kitchen, because everything I read was NO don’t do it. Our heart was set on it because to me they are absolutely stunning and to me you can not recreate the look of real marble.
My opinion is it works perfectly fine for a smaller area that is not around a stove or area where you cook.
Over time we have had some blemishes, but so far it’s been very minor. Also, we have had no issues with staining.
We used a good sealer and I continue to reseal about every 6-8 months.

Flooring

This engineered Wood is BPI Country side in color suede. We used it almost throughout our home and at its price point I would most definitely use again. It’s a glue down flooring that we installed ourselves.
